有部由Hugh Grant 及 Sandra Bullock 主演的電影 Two Weeks Notices(2002)，中文片名翻譯成《貼身情人》，當然是為了票房考量，而英文片名實際的意思是指「辭呈」；但為什麼辭呈要兩週前通知?因位這是一般公司的規定(regulation)，在離職前提早通知雇主，有較充裕的時間找到接班人，並進行離退、移交等程序(procedure)。

1.notice:n. 通知；公告

Most employers are required to post a notice advising employees of their rights under the labor law.

按照勞工法，大部分的雇主要知會員工其相關的權益。

2.submit:v. 提交；呈遞

Review your monthly report for any errors before submitting it to your employer.

將月報表提交給老闆之前，要先檢查是否有任何錯誤。

3.approval:n.批准；同意

The board members gave their approval to the office renovation project.

董事會成員同意辦公室重新裝潢的案子。

4.request:n.請求；要求

An employee can make a request for a transfer due to personal reasons like family or health problems.

員工可因家庭或健康問題等個人因素，而要求調動職務。

5.accommodate:v.調適；配合

Some employers will provide a comfortable environment to accommodate employees' needs.

有些雇主會提供舒適的環境來滿足員工的需求。

6.grant:v.准許；同意

You will be granted up to 30 days of personal leave per year.

您每年最多能獲准請到30天的休假。

Memo: To all employees

With the summer months coming, many of you will be asking for some time off. While we always try to accommodate everyone's wishes, sometimes the number of requests is too heavy, and some employees won't be granted the time off they want. To help you and the stuff make   this vacation season happy for all, we advise you of the following rules:

1) Holiday requests must be summitted with a minimum of four weeks notice instead of the usual two weeks .

2) All holidays require the written approval of the office manager.

3) State the nature of your holiday on the request form.

4) Please list all dates by month and day.
